Gold Heart Brass Milagros

Characteristic of Mexican religious art, these ex-votos (also called milagros) are used either independently or to decorate more elaborate rooms to make a wish or to thank for a wish made.

They are made of zamac metal (a mixture of zinc, aluminum, magnesium and copper) melted and cast in a handmade mold. Very common in Mexico and Latin America, it is very difficult to find artisan manufacturers who jealously preserve their methods and are located in remote areas of Mexico.
