Oaxacan Black Clay Vase – Handcrafted Decorative Pottery from Mexico

Crafted by skilled artisans in Oaxaca, Mexico, this black clay vase is made using traditional Barro Negro techniques passed down through generations. With its smoky black finish and organic silhouette, each vase brings quiet character to interiors with a strong appreciation for craftsmanship and cultural heritage.

Naturally dyed through a unique low-oxygen firing process, the clay takes on its signature black sheen without the use of glaze or paint. Because each piece is hand-formed and pit-fired, subtle variations in tone and texture are to be expected — and celebrated.

Best suited for decorative use, this sculptural vessel works beautifully as a standalone accent or grouped with other natural textures in the home.

Product Features:

  • Origin: Handmade in Oaxaca, Mexico

  • Material: 100% natural local clay

  • Finish: Polished black surface created through traditional open-pit firing

  • Use: Decorative only – not suitable for holding water

  • Dimensions: Approx. 9cm x 10cm – each piece is one of a kind

  • Care: Wipe clean with a dry cloth

A distinctive piece of Mexican folk art that honours ancient techniques while adding a tactile, timeless aesthetic to any modern space.
